Ornithoptera victoriae isabellae PAIR, Birdwings- Historical Significance
Riker framed Ornithoptera victoriae isabellae PAIR from 1974. These include a note that they were caught on the same expedition that described O. victoriae archeri as a new subspecies and by the same collector who caught and described archeri (E.N. Archer). The date on the front label does match the year (1974) when E.N. Archer collected the Archeri paratype. Male has 5 1/4" wingspan
