Incredible, riker framed, Troides darsius PAIR from Ceylon, 1956. Troides darsius is now heavily protected and very rarely offered for sale-currently a specialty dealer in Europe has one un-dated male for sale for over $1600, and their are no other current records of this specimen being offered. Not only is it an amazing butterfly, but it is also from a country that 'doesn't exist' anymore. 'Ceylon' became Sri Lanka in 1972, and DOES NOT allow the exportation of any butterflies, even catching and possessing wild butterflies is now illegal, making it impossible to obtain any specimens except for those currently in old collections.
